RHA in-ear headphones achieve High-Resolution Audio certification

16.06.2015

Products in RHA’s range of award-winning headphones have been confirmed as conforming to High-Resolution Audio (High-Res Audio /  HRA) standards as set out by the prestigious Japan Audio Society (JAS). The MA750, MA750i, T10, T10i and forthcoming T20 have all been certified as capable of authentic playback of high resolution audio files.

The High-Res Audio initiative was created by members of Japan Audio Society, lead by Chairman Ryoji Menjo, as a means of allowing consumers to easily identify products which meet the performance requirements to process or reproduce high quality audio files in formats such as WAV, FLAC and DSD.

High-Resolution Audio refers to digital audio that uses higher sampling rates than those used by CDs (16bit/44.1kHz). The most common formats for High-Res Audio are 24bit/96kHz and 24bit/192kHz. High-Res Audio files can be downloaded from dedicated sites such as HDTracks and Qobuz.

“As part of RHA’s ongoing commitment to true-to-life audio reproduction, submitting products for consideration for HRA certification was a logical step” said Lewis Heath, Product Director at RHA. “In being confirmed to meeting high-resolution standards and being able to use the HRA logo, consumers will easily be able to identify our products as capable of delivering outstanding audio quality.”

The High-Res Audio logo, which is licensed through RHA’s membership of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), will begin appearing on product packaging of the certified products in the near future.
