RHA Art Attack Volume II: The Albums

18.06.2020

The art challenge is back! This time we asked the team to draw a favourite cover from memory, using any medium to hand, and with a 10-minute time limit. The results are… inspiring? Psychologically interesting? Certainly unique.

Abbey, Queen of Brevity

Walls - Kings of Leon

Artist Notes: I tried.

Album Notes: It's just the usual KOL loveliness. Very relaxing.

Rory, Company Man

Bad Company - Bad Company

Artist Notes: It’s a black background and white text.

Album Notes: This is not an opinion on RHA.

John, Henri Matisse Fan

Dookie - Green Day

Artist Notes: With this piece I was trying to emulate the great Henri Matisse - bold, simple and iconic.

Album Notes: It’s such a simple album, like three chords per song but still just so good!

Lorna, "Multi-Award Winning Artist"

Infinity On High - Fall Out Boy

Artist Notes: Believe it or not, I actually received several "Excellence in Art" awards at school.

Album Notes: A 00's emo/mosher goldmine. If I could, I'd say Thnks fr th Mmrs...

Colum, The Catalyst

Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park

Artist Notes: The original was a soldier with cool dragonfly wings. This looks a bit like a builder wearing Hallowe'en butterfly wings, crossing their legs because they really need a pee. Sorry.

Album Notes: This would be a guilty pleasure if I felt guilty about it.

Chris, Not a PR

That’s the Spirit - Bring Me the Horizon

Artist Notes: I tried to draw Red by Taylor Swift (yes, that's quite a contrast in genres) but 10 minutes and my memory does not cultivate a masterpiece, or anything fit for public display.

Album Notes: The quintessential #MondayMotivation playlist for those with questionable people skills.

Rebecca, Sales Spice

Spice Up Your Life - Spice Girls

Artist Notes: Note the wonderful use of colour and true to life representations.

Album Notes: GRL PWR.

Incredibly, this isn't the first time we got our arts and crafts on...wander the Team's gallery of first music players. If that sounds like too much horror for one day, just relax with this week's playlist. Consisting of tracks from the albums above, and some from those who's art was judged unsafe for public viewing:
